The grand champ, someone who we typically think deserves it and should be recognized for it, but this is not the case for WWE; or at least it isn't for me. Randy Orton, the viper, known for his grand finisher the RKO, holds the WWE championship which is now paired with the World Heavyweight Championship as well. Although, yes, this is a huge honor to hold these titles, Orton has completely changed after he received these. He no longer seems strong, he chickens out and is always looks for the easy way out.
Orton relies too heavy on the authority, who is Triple H, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, and his wife Stephanie McMahon who both are in charge of many actions that occur on WWE. With this in mind, and being an old friend of Triple H, Orton feels they are to protect him and because Orton is the face of the WWE, he should be respected. However, when he acts out, especially like a baby when he complains, I don't think he should receive any of it.
If something goes awry and it is not in Orton's favor, he runs to the authority to complain and basically beg for help. Just last night on Monday night Raw, Orton stood in the center of the ring shouting at the audience to respect him. If he showed his strength instead of chickening out and whining about, he might just earn the respect he so wishes for. It wasn't long into his complaints when superstar Batista came out into the ring to remind Orton that Batista is after his title, which I mean, might not be a bad thing if Batista wins; maybe he will actually fight for his respect and not beg for it.
At the end of 2013, Orton and superstar John Cena were in a championship match at the TLC (tables, ladders and chairs) pay per view. As a great fight was nearing an end with exhaustion, Orton reached under the ring and discovered a pair of handcuffs which he would use to chain Cena to the ring leaving only one winner, Orton. Orton always seems to find loopholes to continually win back his title which he really doesn't deserve.
I am not saying he is a bad competitor, because he is a strong fighter, he just let the idea of being the face of the WWE get to his head, and he expects too many things to come out of it. He needs to man up, and earn the respect he so begs for, but who knows, he might lose it to someone else and it might be too late to for him to gain any respect; that'd be pretty nice because it's a little annoying hearing him complain every time he comes on screen or walks into the ring.
